Recently, my friend Shanon and I had a truly spectacular evening.  It was a night of revelry…  of luxury…  of…

...rifelry.

Yep, we went for a private shooting lesson at the much acclaimed Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range!

Here’s the Q+DD on the SSGC
: Started by a coupla heavily armed sisters (talk about Annie Get Your Gun!) the SSGC is part range, part lounge… ALL fabulous.  3 ranges, 16 lanes of shootin’, an oversized training room, and an AMAZING exclusive members’ lounge featuring plush leather couches, flat screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and um, a gun cleaning station!  (What more could you ask for?)  Check it:

Now, you might think that a Gun Club would be just for the menfolk…but you’d be wrong.   I mean…they even have jewelry made from bullets and pink guns!

Fabulous!

Once we completed our tour, we got right down to business with Arlene, the Range Manager at SSGC. Arlene very patiently taught us the ins and outs  (pun intended) such as the proper stance…

...and grip...

...how to load...

...and finally, how to aim and shoot!

Not surprisingly, Shanon was MUCH better than I was…

And didn’t gloat at all!

I think it’s pretty fair to say we BOTH had the time of our lives!

Interesting tidbit: as far as targets, you have a wide variety from which to choose – including the standard “Trouble Shooter” we used, masked intruders, and Zombies!

Your brain looks delicious! You better shoot me!

Or, if you’d like to get creative, you can bring your OWN TARGET. (As long as it’s not a picture of someone famous.) Hmmm, I think I’d like to unload a few rounds into my American Express bill….

Other fun things:

They have a wide variety of gun classes and gun clubs and events!  Click here for more info!

Sucker for a deal? Enjoy the Lunch Hour Special: from 11am – 2pm Monday through Friday all shooters are only $10 and

Thursday is Ladies’ DayThat means all of your pistol packin’ princesses get your range time FREE all day long!

So for you gun enthusiasts…or those of you just looking to blow off steam and have some fungo check out the Sandy Springs Gun Club ASAP!

See you at the range!

Pretty girls with guns? That’s the dream! Looks like a lot of fun.

You guys might be fascinated to know, but too late to jump on this.

I lost my 0 gauge plugs (for my ear holes) a couple months ago, and have been using .357 SIG and 9mm Luger casings to take their place. Brass is probably not the best thing for your pierced ears, but I’ve been keeping them clean and they’ve been fine aside from some slight tarnishing.

Maybe I’m an idiot, maybe it’s an amazingly lucrative idea. I don’t know for sure, but when you have gauges and you lose one, it can be simple to find something similar in diameter as a place-holder (as long as you’re a shooter who saves his/her brass).

Now give me a job there. :D

Woah! I’m not sure that sounds super sanitary! But I am by no means a gun expert and my ears never hold anything larger than a regular post…so I may not be the best person to ask. Good luck!
