A handful of my Atlanta friends have recently started growing vegetable gardens.

This is something that definitely interests me, but I have a few pretty serious things working against me.

1 – We live in a condo without much patio space.
2 – I don’t handle being around bugs very well.
3 – I’ve never been able to successfully keep a plant alive.  In fact, I have a pretty pathetic track record of neglecting/ severly overwatering plants until they meet their tragic/ miserable demise.

Regardless, I’m determined to turn my brown thumb green!  And so, thanks to my wonderful sisters-in-law-to-be, I’m proud to announce that I am the new owner of a GORGEOUS phalaenopsis orchid.

I am determined to treat it with respect according to the watering/ fertilization rules I’ve been reading about online.  We’ll see how this goes…
