Doing It Up…and Then Undoing It a Little.

I have been celebrating.  A lot.  I mean a LOT, a lot.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining but I gotta tell you – all of this revelry has been taking a toll on my poor body.  I’ve been looking for a way to restart and refresh.

Well, lucky me.  Look what arrived at my desk recently!

Introducing the dTox Box from dTox Juice Bar!  I think it might be the exact opposite of approx. 4 – 8 martinis and going a whole weekend on 4 hours of sleep.  Or – as the official marketing promises “Our dTox Box gives your digestive system a rest, thus freeing up the energy to heal while also keeping energized and nutritionally satisfied. Raw fruit and vegetable juice is the most nutritionally complete nourishment we can get. Vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, and phyto-nutrients from the live juice are easily assimilated straight into the bloodstream, simultaneously hydrating our bodies with the pure water that comes straight from the plant.”

Woah.

Each box is $50 and includes 1 dTox water, 2 red juices, 2 green juices, 1 Brazil nut milk (16 ounces each) and 2 elixirs.  Ideally – you pick up the box each day and repeat for 3 days.  They want you to drink a juice every 2 hours and drink water throughout the day.  They recommend you start the day with the water and ending the day with the Brazil nut milk.  Might be a good way to jumpstart a diet or just reverse some negative effects of some good old-fashioned rebel rousing.

If you’re not ready to commit to three whole days without chewing anything – you can always pepper in some raw nutrients by popping these babies a la carte.  I tried the red juice (beet, carrot, cucumber, spinach, romaine, dandelion, ginger, lemon.  $7 individually) and the wheatgrass elixer (wheatgrass and cucumber $4 individually) and they were delish and very energizing!

They’d probably be great with a shot of vodka in them, too(I kid, I kid!)

Check out dTox Juice Bar’s website by clicking HERE or stop by their shop in Midtown!

Bottoms up!

The 3-Day is HERE!

The big weekend has finally arrived!  (Well, technically, as of tomorrow it will have arrived!)  My amazing walking buddy, Gorms, and I have been fundraising + training over the past few months to walk 60 miles over three days this weekend as part of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure in Atlanta!

The purpose of this incredible walk is to raise money for breast cancer research and community programs.  Without a cure, one person will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes in the United States.  Together we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

The 3-Day commences tomorrow in the wee hours of the morning at Stone Mountain and ends on Sunday in the early evening at Turner Field.

Friends, family + general spectators are encouraged to come out to cheer on the 3-Day walkers!  Closing Ceremonies, in particular, on Sunday are easy to attend and very, very moving.  Spectator information can be found here: 3-Day Atlanta Spectator Info!

Look out for LK, G$, Randodi and Kevin at Closing Ceremonies!  And, best of luck to all the fantastic 3-Day walkers!!  We’ve got THIS!  :)

Cure Couture: Breast Cancer Awareness Month Promo!

It’s October…Breast Cancer Awareness month!  (Don’t forget to look for Linds and Gorms showing the 3-Day who’s boss in less than 3 weeks!)

What better time than now to tell you all about Cure-Couture the most fabulous frocks your hospital has ever seen.

Started by my friend Ashley Segal and her business partner Linsay Alvarado, Cure-Couture was the brainchild of the late fashion designer (and Ashley’s sweet mother) Linda Segal.  The line was born to provide women a stylish alternative to the drab standard-issue hospital gowns and perhaps an extra spring in their step!

Ashley (left) and Linsay

So whether you or someone you love is undergoing medical treatments or giving birth to a precious new life – there’s a cute gown made specifically for every need (and Cure-Couture promises to cover your “assets”)!

Check out some of the fashions:

Please click HERE to see all of their styles

In September of last year, Ashley’s wife, Kristin, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at a VERY young age.

This is Kristin. She’s my favorite. I’m just kidding. (Except I am not kidding.)

She’s now, thankfully, in remission, and in honor of Krisitin and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cure-Couture is offering 10% off the Pink Calipso print gowns!  Check it:

Just enter “FIGHT” at checkout to receive the discount!  (Normally $49)

I think a CureCouture gown is an incredibly thoughtful and uplifting gift idea for the women in your life undergoing treatment or as a maternity gift!

I mean, I don’t know a whole lot of ladies dying to rock the standard-issue blue smocks, right?

Bonjiorno!

I am BACK!

You guys, it was an incredible trip and I have SO MUCH to share with y’all – but alas, I am at the mercy of the people who snapped pictures and I am happy to report that I was too busy taking in the gorgeous scenery, stunning Italian culture and architecture and amazing fashion to be one of them.

I was also very busy taking in wayyyy too much of this:

And this:

And this:

What I need now is to see a lot of this:

And a gym.  STAT.

Even though all I want to do right now is pour over wedding blogs and obsess over color combinations, I need to find myself at my trainer (I love you, Lloyd!) and definitely at Zumba (which I just discovered and LOVE!  Ridiculous dance party as a workout?  Yes, please.) and hopefully some good old fashioned running now that the weather is a little cooler.

But to keep my eye on the prize, I found a bunch of motivating images on Pinterest that I thought I’d share with you… in case you needed a little extra kick in the rear this week, too.

(KIDDING!!!!)

Enjoy!

Not Half Bad…

SOMEHOW I ended up in the chip aisle at the grocery yesterday.  SOMEHOW this bad boy ended up in my shopping cart.

And, guess what, they weren’t half bad.  :)

Nothing tastes quite as good as real full-fat Pringles, but these seem to me to be a pretty great way to get some of the old Pringles taste but now with multigrain goodness!

Here’s the Q+DD on Multigrain Pringles:
Serving size: 16 crisps
Total fat: 8 g
Calories: 140 g
Carbs: 16 g
Protein: 1 g

So, not terrible.  Just sayin’…they’re definitely worth a try(Watch your cart, too, they’re sneaky.)
