Magic Potion…I Mean, Lotion.
My BFF who lives in L.A. and knows everything cool that is going on in the beauty world recently turned me on to this magic potion…I mean, lotion, from Tarte.
Here’s what Sephora has to say about it:
Indulge your skin with this powerful multitasker that works as a primer, moisturizer, light foundation, anti-aging treatment, and sunscreen to give you a youthful-looking glow. Worn alone or as the perfect base for makeup, this 12-hour, age-defying, oil-free primer offers light-to-medium, buildable coverage that helps even skin tone and other skin imperfections while diffusing light to minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pores. The creamy, silky formula goes on smooth and blends easily, leaving you with a natural-looking, flawless finish with a broad-spectrum, chemical-free SPF 30 that offers ideal protection from the sun’s harmful UVA/UVB rays.
So pretty much, this state-of-the-art BB cream (that comes in 5 shades) does everything except for burn up all of your carbs. Sound good? You can find it at your local Sephora or right here right now. This stuff is truly magical.
My Newest Hair Toolz – Summer Beach Waves
My hair is usually pretty straight thanks to all the Bumble and bumble straightening and anti-frizz products I coat it with every day, but I’m ALL about the sultry beach waves look this summer. My hair doesn’t naturally DO beach waves, though, unless I’m sitting directly across from the ocean for at least 2 – 3 hours. Oh, hair woes…
Never fear, though, I’m covered this summer with my trusty three amigos below…
Instead of the straightening products I typically use, I spray on Bumble and bumble Surf Spray. I swear by this stuff.
Then, I alternate between these two new additions to my hair toolz collection. (1) Revlon’s Perfect Heat Jumbo Waver.
And (2) the BabylissPro Miracurl Professional Curl Machine on the medium setting.
Both the jumbo waver and the miracurl are easy to use and hold my waves for hours when combined with surf spray. It’s so fun to look like you’ve been at the beach all day when you’ve really just been landlocked at home watching Bravo…
Wishing you all fabulous hair days this summer!
Practicing Safe Sun – M Day Weekend 2014
Y’all have big plans for M Day Weekend 2014? I’m headed to the beach. But don’t worry – I’m prepared.
I’m a Raw Bronzing Studio regular + popped in last night for my organic spray tan so that I can lay out on the beach with confidence (and not blind/frighten anyone with my intense paleness). It makes me cringe, and frankly pretty worried, thinking back to all the time I spent growing up in Texas laying out in the summer sun without sunscreen. All the times I slathered on oil instead. All my terrible burns! I’m SO sorry, skin… Thank goodness Raw Bronzing is there for me now so that I can still rock a bronze glow but not abuse my skin in doing so.
Raw’s waiting area is stocked with the most adorable summer essentials to peruse while you’re waiting to get bronzed – hats, shirts, dresses, flip flops, bags, and jewelry.
I picked up this guy from Indego Africa. It’s handmade in Africa and all profits benefit Rwandan women artisans. So cute, great cause, and perfect for the beach!
Make an appointment at Raw before you head out to celebrate M Day Weekend, and you’ll totally rock that new swimsuit! Get your bronze on, gurrrrl.

If (heaven forbid) I could only have ONE beauty product to use for the rest of my life… it would most definitely be Mascara. My eyelashes are blonde and wispy and you would surely be concerned for my health if you saw me without it. It’s not pretty, trust me.
I have tubes in every purse and in every room in my house. It’s probably not normal. So, as a result, I’ve spent a lot of time and a lot of money on the stuff over the years and totally consider myself an expert. But this weekend, my gorgeous friend Sara turned me on to a brand new one for me – Lights Camera Flashes by Tarte – and it. is. LOVE.
It’s thick but not clumpy, goes on easily, and stays FOREVER. Amazing.
However, as I am not, and will probably never be a mascara monogamist – I put together a handy-dandy guide to LC’s Lash Favorites. Here’s the latest list of the mascaras in rotation in my life – depending on my needs…and my wallet. Without further ado:
From left: Guerlain Cils d’Enifer Maxi Lash ($30), Trish McEvoy High Volume – my favorite waterproof mascara! ($31), Tarte Lights Camera Flashes ($23), tried-and-true Maybelline Great Lash ($5), and finally, my old friend L’Oreal Voluminous ($6)
By the way, if you have some gem that I’ve missed…please feel free to leave it in the comments.
Now, go forth and bat with confidence!
I kept seeing this little red devil in magazine ads + I felt like it was calling my name.
“Lindsay… Lindsay… Find me… Buy me… Love me…”
It was quite haunting, I must admit. But I did just that: I found it, and bought it, and I LOVE it! And, now I have to tell you all about it.
Chanel’s Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Pirate is the lip color for fall. It has red/blue hues that are just so velvety and flattering. I want to wear it ALL the time. Find it… Buy it… Love it… (And, thank your favorite blog for telling you about it!)
You’re welcome, you sexy devil, you.
