The 5th Annual Urban Coop Tour in Atlanta is set for October 6 + 7!  Mark your calendars, busy bees.

The Wylde Center and Georgia Organics are teaming up again to present the 5th annual tour of 13 urban coops.

The tour will highlight the benefits of backyard chickens as well as the potential pitfalls and solutions.  Coop owners will be available to answer questions and provide details on their coop designs and to share their experiences with “the girls.”

Backyard chickens coops are a fast growing trend in many intown Atlanta neighborhoods with families, community gardens, and neighborhood co-ops getting in on the action.  The dual benefits of farm fresh eggs as well as the experience of reclaiming ownership of the food chain has inspired hundreds of people to get involved.  You can’t get any more local than walking outside your door and gathering eggs… and the chickens are also pretty cute!
